Coach Dyer brings over 25 years of high school coaching experience to Desert Mountain. He has been named Arizona Region Coach of the Year 4 times and held the titles of Section Coach of the Year and Arizona Coach of the Year twice each. His 2011 team holds the all-time Arizona record for wins in a season at 34. Coach Dyer has three Arizona State Championship titles, including 2021’s Desert Mountain championship win. He has had teams ranking in the top 10 nationally, and has been instrumental in sending more than 100 players on to college or professional baseball.
Coach Patterson returns for his seventh year with the Wolves. As a player, he pitched for 9 years in the majors with the Texas Rangers and Detroit Tigers, and was named Rookie of the Year by the Texas Rangers in 1997. When he’s not coaching, Coach Patterson likes to spend time with his family. His favorite baseball movie is Bull Durham. His favorite quote is “Whether you think you can or can’t, you’re right.”
Coach Alcombrack is back as the DM varsity hitting coach. He has worked with numerous players that have gone on to college and professional careers.
Coach Payne played two years in the Chicago Cubs organization, and specializes in outfield defense and baserunning. He is in his first year with the Wolves.
Coach Davis returns to lead the JV DMHS baseball team. He played professionally in the Independent Leagues and is committed to preparing his players for higher levels. His father, Chili Davis, played 19 years in the majors and served as a hitting coach for multiple MLB teams.
Coach Anderson is back with DM as a JV coach. He spent 11 seasons working as a Certified Athletic Trainer in the Milwaukee Brewers organization and has coached various levels of baseball.
Coach Brenner has been on the DMHS coaching staff since 2010. He played at Chaparral High School, Yavapai College and Newman University. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, 2 boys, daughter in law, and grandchildren.
